This episode of A Worldview Apart was released on November 24, 2017, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States of America. This day is also referred to as Black Friday, and Eric uses this episode to reflect on the role that marketing and advertising plays in perpetuating consumerism. He also explores how consumerism, as an ideology, robs us of sovereignty over our sense of self, how his relationship with money has changed over the years, and talks about a couple tools he’s used to control his spending habits, among other things.
