Episode 39: Nature Awareness and Living in the Present Moment, with Nicole Apelian

Dr. Nicole Apelian is a scientist, educator, wilderness guide, herbalist and traditional skills instructor, among other things. She appeared as a contestant on the survival-themed show Alone in 2016, spending 57 days surviving by herself in a remote part of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. In this episode she and Eric talk about nature connection, bird language, how she controls her multiple sclerosis using diet, lifestyle practices, and herbs, and the importance of giving women who are interested in survival skills female role models in the media, among other things.

    Wonderful episode! I enjoyed hearing from Nicole’s experience quite a lot. I’ll have to pick up ‘What the Robin Knows’ too.. sounds like a great read to get some basics in bird language.
